Connection Parenting Book List
Ok, so we already have an extremely complete collection of links to books that are consistent with Connection Parenting principles. Pam and I have read every single one of these books and vetted them all for consistency with her body of work and my work in Emotional Intelligence. No sense in duplicating this list here when that work has been done in depth already. Sorted by category: Pregnancy, Birth & Bonding, Parenting & Optimal Nurturing, Behavior & Discipline, Education & Activities, Communication & Relationships, Personal Growth, Magazines & Periodicals: Connection Parenting Book List

Here is a youtube link to a free 55 minute keynote address given by Pam Leo:

"Healing The Feeling Child"

This talk is essentially Chapter 3 from her Connection Parenting book.

The Liedloff Continuum Network
The official website for readers of Jean Liedloff's acclaimed book, "The Continuum Concept"

The book: "The Continuum Concept: In Search Of Happiness Lost" by Jean Liedloff

"Connection Parenting: Parenting Through Connection Instead of Coercion, Through Love Instead of Fear" by Pam Leo

The Consciously Parenting Project
This is the web site of our dear friend and ally, Rebecca Thompson - author, speaker, and the founder and Executive Director of The Consciously Parenting Project

Playful Parenting: An Exciting New Approach to Raising Children That Will Help You Nurture Close Connections, Solve Behavior Problems, and Encourage Confidence by Lawrence J. Cohen

I'm including these next two books under the Parenting heading even though I also list them just below under the Personal Development heading, because one essential aspect of effective parenting is doing your own inner work so you can demonstrate this way of being for your children. Ideally we do this before we have kids but often they show up in our lives and their presence is when we suddenly discover we have a ton of inner work to do. Both of Peter Walker's books are absolutely consistent with Pam's work in "Healing the Feeling Child" and my work in Emotional Intelligence. No matter who you are and what is going on in your life, these are two remarkably valuable books.

"Practical Politics For Bold Women: Proven Methods To Organize And Be Heard"
by Natasha Chart

Are you one of the growing number of women who feels betrayed by political parties and mainstream feminist organizations who can no longer define what a woman is, let alone represent women’s interests?

Practical Politics for Bold Women is for women’s rights campaigners who want to be heard, but may not be sure where to start.

If you’ve ever gotten anyone else to agree to work with you towards a common goal, this book lays out steps you can take to build towards political achievement and influence.

"The Authoritarians"
by Bob Altemeyer

This website places at your disposal a free ebook entitled The Authoritarians. Bob wrote this book in 2006 when a great deal seemed to be going wrong in America, and he thought the research on authoritarian personalities could explain a lot of it. (The book is set in that era, but you will have no trouble finding present-day examples of what the experiments found back then.)

He also has an edited version specifically about Trump that he wrote with John Dean, and the image above is the cover for that. His original book as a free PDF download. The new version you will need to buy. (It's worth it.)

- Environmentalism -

"Bright Green Lies exposes the hypocrisy and bankruptcy of leading environmental groups and their most prominent cheerleaders. The best-known environmentalists are not in the business of speaking truth, or even holding up rational solutions to blunt the impending ecocide, but instead indulge in a mendacious and self-serving delusion that provides comfort at the expense of reality. They fail to state the obvious: We cannot continue to wallow in hedonistic consumption and industrial expansion and survive as a species. The environmental debate, Derrick Jensen and his coauthors argue, has been distorted by hubris and the childish desire by those in industrialized nations to sustain the unsustainable. All debates about environmental policy need to begin with honoring and protecting, not the desires of the human species, but with the sanctity of the Earth itself. We refuse to ask the right questions because these questions expose a stark truth—we cannot continue to live as we are living. To do so is suicidal folly. ‘Tell me how you seek, and I will tell you what you are seeking,’ the German philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein said. This is the power of Bright Green Lies: It asks the questions most refuse to ask, and in that questioning, that seeking, uncovers profound truths we ignore at our peril.” -- Chris Hedges, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of America: The Farewell Tour
